Dr. Myers and Jesse Lazier:story of scientists fighting yellow fever.

     When you are sick,doctors give you medicine.Whether the drug is given in tablet form or in a vial or as an injection;At that time you would hardly realize that some scientists have worked hard to find this medicine.

         The caterpillars have fought to the death and have often lost their lives.The story of scientists fighting yellow fever among those fighting for science is very strange and thrilling.This yellow fever was widespread in Central and South America and caused black fever.Thousands of Americans died of this fever on the island of Cuba in the 19th century.

        You must have heard the name of French engineer Ferdinand-de-Lesseps.  His name will forever be associated with the Suez Canal and the Panama Canal.After this, he started planning to connect the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean by digging a canal near Panama City on American soil. But all the laborers hired to dig the canal started dying.As soon as insecticides were sprayed and mosquitoes started dying, humans started dying.All of them died of malaria and yellow fever.

         Eighteen out of every hundred people died in a year.Fewer people provided the best doctors for them.But where the disease is not understood,what do the doctors themselves do?Eventually so many people died that the work on the Panama Canal had to be stopped.The current canal is not Lesseps,but a later canal built by the US government.This horror of yellow fever shook the whole world.Scientists were particularly concerned.

          Can't this disease be cured?Thought it, but the South magazine for research is of interest to anyone,because if you applied yellow fever instead of locating it,the texture was not.But there are debt scientists in the world too.His village Dr.Capers,AD Around 1900,he went  to research jaundice.He settled in an area where an epidemic of yellow fever was spreading. Within no time both of them got jaundice.  And the practice stuck in writing notes about the characteristics of Velocity.But Dr. Khian.Myers' note remained incomplete and it took 5 June for this five price.They became theaters of science.The research story of Left Vegetable doesn't stop here.

          Why is it that the US government sent a military janitor to look into the cause of the fever.He didn't find any new worms inside, but he did notice one thing.  Yellow fever is more prevalent where mosquitoes are more prevalent.Is jaundice also spread by mosquitoes like cold and flu?To find out, Reid began experiments with Jitjit.He bitten monkeys, rats and other animals with mosquitoes.The animals were kept among the mosquitoes in the area where Magoso died of yellow fever.But no one got jaundice.Several experiments eventually concluded that fever only applied to humans.

          Does not apply to any other animals.  Therefore, experiments on that disease have to be done on humans only.Major Reid wrote to the US government,asking to send volunteers if they could.You just think  What a sad operation it was!What a great deal it is to be prepared to enter your body with a disease that has not yet been treated!,But even American citizens have come down to take such a risk.Hundreds of demands started coming in.send us!send us!!! 

           Ultimately,the government selected two doctors for this.Their names are James Carroll and Jesse Lazier.He sucked the blood of a jaundiced patient and filled his body with freshly bitten mosquitoes.In those days some volunteers who were not sent by the government also came to Major Reed and they also ate the bites of those mosquitoes. 

           Everyone had fever.Jesse Lazarus dies.He was the second martyr of the human war against jaundice.Thus, it has been determined that yellow fever is transmitted only by mosquitoes.But it is remains to be able seen whether the fever is transmitted in others way.So a small room was prepared.  Three volunteers entered.These people were given the clothes of the yellow fever patients, their bloody towels,their vomit-laden sheets and pillows and their utensils, they used all this for twenty days,but no one got jaundice. 

      However, when jaundiced patients came in contact with mosquito bites, they soon developed fever.  Mosquitoes spread the disease,so it was decided and then started the work of mosquito repellent sent a team of reformed workers led by a bureaucrat.The team sprayed insecticides to completely eliminate mosquitoes from the Panama region.Then workers and engineers set out to build the Panama Canal.It was finally ready in the canal in AD 1914.
